I am sorry to have read this a day too late, but I was holed up in my house reading the book! It’s incredible, but I suppose you’ve heard that a lot already. Best thing since I read the Wizard of Earthsea. Your writing is just as good as your story. Thanks. I plan to post about it.

Pat, caffeine or no caffeine, your primacy ploy probably won’t work here at DreamHaven, because we’re staffed with alpha females this Saturday. (We kick a**, rather than thumping chest.) However, I have no objection to chest-thumping, as long as it doesn’t frighten the customers.

Patrick…I just stumbled upon your book in the bookstore today…the cover art is actually what drew me in…your prologue is AMAZING and based on that alone I purchased the book…I’m a longtime reader of the fantasy genre…been reading them since the mid to late 80’s (I’m 28 now) and I just wanted to tell you how inspirational your writing has become to me…I’m working hard on my first novel…its tough juggling the daily grind (50+ hour work week), and the daily goings on in life and still finding the time to write but EVERYDAY I push on…your successes and achievements give me renewed hope that it is still possible to separate your work from all of the watered down fantasy out there right now and make an impact…become a “new star” so to speak…even your “thank you” page moved me…it reminded me of something I want to say on the very same page in my first novel…anyway I’m looking forward to delving deeper into your world and I’m sure I’ll be anxiously awaiting the second novel =) in the series…

My book is still at Uncle Hugo's waiting for you to sign. I have to work at the library that day, but I'll see if I can bribe my boss and get enough time to drive over to the Uncle's for a quick chat. Head across Chicago Avenue to the Midtown Exchange for food and coffee after you're done signing at Hugo's. There's a great food court over there, just ask Don. Hope I can swing by and say Hi, but either way, the book rocks! Keep writing!

Pat,I'm not quite done with the book yet but it's a really refreshing change of pace. I'm loving every minute of it, thanks!On the whole book tour, signing thing. Finding out that ones new favorite author is as close as Madison but doesn't bother to come to Milwaukee is both exciting and frustrating!Hope to see you in Milwaukee, else you'll force me to bring a 9 month old to a signing out of town and you don't want that because she's sure to be grumpy.Thanks for the great read. Almost makes me wish I went to Madison ;)
