I have to share a funny story.A good friend of mine was irate after reading the latest blog post. Some stupid pseudo-celebrity chick, she complained, with her hair in dumb poodle bows, looking between the book and a Speed Racer sticker.... How vapid do these camera-beggars get?She had no idea that it was ME in the photo. /laugh/The photo in question is of the fictional celebrity Trixie, from the classic animated Speed Racer. We were dressed as the crew anyway and couldn't resist < HREF="http://andsewingishalfthebattle.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=39" REL="nofollow">a few shots<> with the book. (And no, that's not the real Speed Racer, either. He's older now.)So at least now I know that if ever I need to rob a bank, I should do it in my Trixie guise for staying incognito!

Oh! I was at a nephew’s wedding and entertaining in-laws all weekend and just checked the blog tonight. Thank you so much, Pat! I never win anything! This is so exciting! (Can’t stop using exclamation points!!!)!I had so much fun asking strangers to take pictures of me and NOTW. I honestly thought I had no chance of even getting honorable mention. I was just having a blast that day. And now I can tell everyone I’ve had a threesome with Lego Fett and Paperback Rothfuss! ;) And won a prize! (!!)

I would have happily ordered the paperback for Southern display as well, but we haven't had a flight since station close in mid-February and we won't see another until station opening in early November. Alas, no flights = no mail, no paperback at its release...So its just one copy of the book and sixty winterovers slowly growing insane in the dark.Damn fine times. That, and NOTW will be staying in the library here when I leave. For the foreseeable future, the world will revolve around it.
