You should go to Heidelberg, just don't let anyone know, don't do a signing there if that takes up too much time, just take your family there and enjoy a great day in a lovely city.

Sure Rome, Paris and alikes are the usual suspect when it comes to planning a trip to Europe (well, Amsterdam wouldn't make it to the top 5 on my list though). But who knows when next you'll be able to come here so don't miss out on one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.

Safe trip

Billy

Anybody having problems with their local Waterstones should point out to the manager that THE BOOK has been one of their staff recommendations for a while now.

You are absolutely right not to try and do a book tour with a newborn - I still remember Garrison Keeler beginning to nod off on stage at the Gate in Dublin because he and his wife had been up all night!

And to be honest, if I were Sarah I would want some time in Europe when you aren't signing books

But I do wish Dubin was on the list

I don't often write fan letter (in order of occurrence Laura Ingalls Wilder, Tolkien and Lewis - all back in the 50s) but you really have written something very special indeed - my husband described it as the best coming of age book since Catcher in the Rye

Edinburgh?!! Hell yeah! Well if you enjoy a good pint of beer or 10 followed by copious amounts of whisky and late night drunken arguments about why William Wallace should be given an official pardon and the reasons why Merlin was really a Scot then you are coming to best city in the world! Oh yeah did I mention the drinking?!

Congratulations to both of you! It's great that something magical is happening to one who's brought so much magic to mine! To think I've told teens of people to read your book, and bought a couple to loan out when people were dragging their feet, and just now visit your website, and it's very entertaining. Not enough to hold me until August, mind you.. so I'll now return to the state of Waiting For August To Freaking Get Here Already.

Concerning Amsterdam I was thingking about Waterstones because it has a much more cozy feel than the American Book Centre. But maybe ABC could be contacted as well.

Anyone already busy for Amsterdam?

p.s. @ Pat: I saw someone advise Ghent to you (in Belgium). If you do go to Belgium definitely stop by at Ghent instead of the larger capital "Brussels". Ghent is beautiful.

Cheers,
Tesse
from Amsterdam
