This is rather belated, but my sister actually recieved a fortune cookie that said “Now is the time to make circles with mints. Do not haste any longer.”

First point: -The Main Library at Indiana University sinks over an inch every year because when it was built, engineers failed to take into account the weight of all the books that would occupy the building.

This is an urban legend. The library is still exactly where it was at the height it was when it was built. And a mighty creepy-looking library it is, too.

And my favorite fortune: Art misunderstanding by calm, poise and balance.

I keep it in my wallet.

Two cookie stories:

The first is from high school speech class where we had to give a five minute speech based on a fortune cookie. I can't remember mine for the life of me, but I'm still upset at the girl that got an empty one and demanded a new one. The missed opportunity of talking about the significance of an empty cookie.

My favorite fortune of all time: "Buy more fortune cookies." Seriously, I still have it.

Actually, the fortune goes “Alack, the onion you are eating is some one else’s water lily”, and is still hanging on my wall.

Which shows not only is it a bad translation, but using an ancient dictionary too.
