Wow, I have to say, i really do enjoy listening to you speak on anything remotely related to the craft of writing, and creating a world, to use your words, where you can turn a different corner and not find the "backstage area", you have a skill for interviewing in that no matter how long you make it i don't seem to mind, regardless of how much I groan when T see the time on the video feed, sooo... YAY! And good luck on that writing Denna Thing, I WOULD DIE trying to even start THINKING about something like that, so you are a braver man than I.

As a new father myself, I wil give you what little advice I have....

1. Apparently babies are unfazed by sharp objects and blunt force trauma, however their weakness lies in diaper changes, temperature checks, being weighted and blood pressure.

2. Pray to what ever supreme being you worship that you don't ever have to mess with an Ostomy bag, talk about a pain in the ass.

3. With two being said, they make cartoon charcters out of the wierdest things, I mean who makes a cartoon out of a shit bag!? I mean really, do you think kids will feel any better about crap in a bag because of a cartoon character?

4. Read to him, I read Dragonlance Chronicles (since my Name of the Wind copy was being borrowed at the time) while he was in the NICU and everytime I did he calmed down and relaxed usually falling asleep, hopefully dreaming of dragons and bad-ass wizrds.

-Chris Vasko

Pat/Mr. Rothfuss/ Convention Dude-

I wanted to tell you that I loved Name of the Wind for a lot of reasons, the main one being that I'm a piss-ant freshman at college, and that whole scene with Kvothe and Hemme just...made my day. =) I mean,DAMN. I literally lol'd.

And I also really liked The Denna/Kvothe 'romance.' I like the fact that Kvothe's not a raging sack of testosterone, though he's still got aaalll of book two to , you know...;)

So yeah. I read your book...the third week of college? Made me all warm and fuzzy. I even had a few nerdy 'If Kvothe can *insert epic deed here* then I can...*insert embarrasing laundry story here*

So yeah. Much love. =) Congrats on your baby, too! =D

-Melissa from Georgia in college in Florida ;)

P.S. i totally would have e-mailed you this but... I'm a freshman. Couldn't find your e-mail, sooo...

Guess we'll just stick to 'I'm a freshman.' XD

Enjoyable interview. I completely agree with your definition of a fairy-tale. Take your time with Wise Man's Fear, Pat. It will be all the better once it's done with all the time and care you've put into it.

~Vinny~
