I’m a Whedonist. I admit it. Maybe not as hard-core as you–very low down on the hierarchy–but if it has his name on it, I’m there.

I miss Firefly. And whenever I see the Captain on another show, I say, “Hey! There’s Mal!” But it’s never the same. It’s like trying to go out with an ex after a year’s absence. He looks the same, but there are subtle differences–his hair is a bit longer or shorter, he eats lamb now, or has become a vegan, there’s just something not right about it. Even if I were to lure him back to my bed, he wouldn’t belong there anymore. Mal doesn’t belong anywhere else but on Firefly. Well, and the fact that my husband would pitch a fit that involved guns and ammo. I’m babbling.

I just wanted to show my support, months later. Call it procrastinationary support. I’ll let ya.

Love Joss Wheadons work myself. Wasn’t a fan of Dollhouse though. The idea behind it was basically a rip-off of the movie ‘The Island’.
Also I think Joss’s love of the fantastic ‘Battlestar Galactica’ re-make was a little too apparent, borowing everything from Battlestars ideas of morality (what does it mean to be human, can machines have humanity etc) to the actors from Battlestar themselves.
Hope he gets back on track with his next project as he truly is a fantastic story teller.
P.S- Loved ‘The Name of the Wind’, cant wait to get stuck into book 2!

I'm addicted to your blog. Which is good, but it's bad, because I need to be at school in 8 minutes and I'm sitting here, hair a mess, in my PJ's, staring at the screen. Laughing harder than I've laughed in ages.

I was converted to Whedonism in January. I must admit, I'm not quite as bad as you yet. I'm on the fifth season of Buffy. =) But I'm getting there.

If you ever have free time, I've got another good one for you. If you love Whedon, you'll love it. Ever heard of Supernatural, created by Eric Kripke? Best. Show. Since. Buffy.

And the fanboy crush is cute. =)

I am an English teacher, and when I teach Beowulf, I also show “Fear Itself.” The students then take a test comparing the heroes and villains. I also show Dr. Horrible at the end of the heroes unit and ask students how heroes and villains have changed over the years. If I could, I would teach all Whedon all the time. It’s pretty much everything they need to know about the world. Period.

I LOVE FIREFLY. I totally agree with you as far as being pissed forever and ever about it being canceled. When the DVD’s came out I forced all of my friends to watch, in some cases going as far as threatening to end the friendship if they didn’t comply. I have actually convinced some of these same friends to read you book based on the fact that you are wearing a Joss Whedon t-shirt. Everyone is making a big deal about JJ Abrahms and he is good I will give him that but in humble opinion he is a more watered down consumer oriented version of Joss. God! didnt Fox realize that Firefly had the potential to be the Star Trek for this generation??? Hopefully someday some how it will live again just like Star Trek! Long LIve J W!

For those that have wandered away from Dollhouse after a few episodes, skip ahead to the season 1 finale. It jumps forward in the timeline so you can see where the story is heading. Once you know where it’s headed, the individual episodes are much more gripping.
