For those of you in the Boston area….

A quick heads-up. My UK publisher is flying me out to Boston to do a promotional video shoot, so I’ll be out on the east coast from January 2nd through the 4th.

Why do I mention this? Because over the last couple of months some of you have complained that I only seem to do events here in the Midwest. Some of you have gone so far as to say hurtful things about my beloved Wisconsin.

So, in an attempt to spread the love around as much as possible, I thought I could do some sort of event while I’m out in the Boston Area. Maybe a little signing/reading/whatever.

Luckily, the gracious owner of Pandemonium Books has agreed to host the shindig despite the woefully short notice.

The specific date and time have yet to be arranged, but I’ll have those details up here shortly.
Right now I just wanted to let people know it was going to happen so we could spread the word a little, given that we’re doing this on such short notice…

More soon,

pat

Alas, Boston is still too far away for me to attend, although I have to commend your gracious nature for arranging a signing for your devoted fans in that area. But my question is, why is your UK publisher flying you to Boston? I have to say that it is closer to Europe than Wisconsin, but there’s still an ocean in the way. If it were me, I’d be groveling for tickets all the way to London!

That is an excellent question, Josie… Maybe they don’t have all the modern things needed to produce a promotional video in Wisconsin! Just kidding, Pat! Erm, go cheese and all that. :-)>

A step in the right direction! Now just aim a bit south and come to DC and all will be right with the world! Will you be doing Dragon*Con this year, perhaps?

Boston is great and all and from what I can tell you do plenty of book signings. But besides your amazingly entertaining blog, you never update your website. (Bestiaries Coming Soon?) Are they pat. are they. With the news of the delay. I am itching more than ever for your books. I wont ask.I just wonder if you could tie us over with additional facts about your story. Maybe some of the things you cut out. Update your site for all of your loyal blog fans. But as long as you keep blogging I will be happyMerry Christmas

Pat — glad you’re making it out here. If you want to do another signing event while you’re in the area, I recommend Brookline Booksmith.Anyway, if you need any pointers for places to go/stuff to do in Boston, or want to hang with another Gen Con panel vet while you’re in town, give me a shout.

Hi!! I have to admit, I stumbled across your book by accident while in Borders finishing the usual last second holiday shopping. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! As a certified bibliophile, it is hard for me to find something new, unusual, and fantastic all at the same time. THANK YOU for breaking out of the formulaic and writing something so incredibly wonderful. Tell your publisher MORE PROMOS! It would be great if you could make the trip to the DC area as gehennaheretic suggests.Anyway, thank you for sharing your story with us. I can not WAIT until the future volumes come out. I just might not have found it yet on your site, but do you have an email alert list somewhere, where we can sign up for news on the latest release dates and promotional tours? Happy holidays!!!!!!!!!

Errr….um…..err…hate to do this to you but…wait, lets start this off right, i loved the book, one of the best i have ever read, and i read alot of books. Okay ingratiation over (all true of course), now on to business. 2009? Wow!! What the delay, hehe? But on a serious note, it is very intriguing to know why it will take so long. One would think that b/c you had the trilogy all finished before the first was published that, if anything, we might see an accelarated publication of your books compared to the industry standard. Was there substantial rewrites you decided to make in order to deliver the very best possible experience to us? or do you have numerous other dark and hidden obligations going on? or is it merely happenstance? and should we then expect book three in 2011?okay thats all for now, save this: I just thought you should know, my identical twin brother (mid twenties) has a longer beard than you…maybe you should work on that while we wait for the next book :>)

Pat! Such a non-creepy dedication in Jeff’s Christmas gift. :) Glad to see that, since high school, you still (at least in online written word) sound the same, have the same handwriting and signature, and have finally turned into a Gnome.–Teresa
