A new interview with Felicia Day

I just finished an interview with the fabulous Felicia Day: actress, creative mind behind The Guild, and all-around good person geek.

I had a lot of fun chatting with her, if you’re interested you can find it over here at her blog.

Also, if you live in the central Wisconsin area, I’m going to be having a booksigning at the local independant bookstore, Bookfinders. It’s this Sunday from 11:00 to 1:00. Feel free to show up and hang out, I’m expecting it to be pretty relaxed there, so I should have time to chat with folks who stop by…

Address and contact info:

1001 A Brilowski Rd
Stevens Point, WI 54481

Later all,

pat

Umm, Pat? A graphic-novel version of the book? I don’t remember hearing anything about that, but that’s amazing news. Anything else you can tell us about it, or is it still too early?

Yeah… I came back here to look at comments as soon as I read that part, too. I hope it’s not a joke I didn’t get… I’d really like to know who’s gonna be involved in that.BTW, love the bit about Oreo/Dorito offerings to Buddha!

Damn. I should really get to one of these signings. I keep looking hopefully for bearded red-head whenever I’m in Point. When I find one, however, it’s never you. I’d probably have better luck at one of these arrangements. The only problem is that I’m swamped right now. My family is in the process of starting a dairy. A true Wisconsinite, eh? It just so happens Sunday is the day before the 60 cows arrive. We’ll be scrambling around franticly trying to get everything polished up and ready to go. The chances of me getting to your signing are slim.Maybe next time. At least I have an interview to read. And now that you’ve mentioned a graphic novel, I’ll have something to add to my anticipation list. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’d like to get back to bed. Of course, when I said bed I don’t mean sleep. The Last Unicorn is sitting on my nightstand.

” The loyal companion animal. The prophecy of the chosen one. Elves with bows. Gruff dwarves. People trying to destroy the world. “Evil.” “.Anyone who has had the misfortune of reading Eragon will know that it has every single one of those cliches.

Such a great interview, I’m so tired of writers half assing it lately as well. Some people say you can’t judge a book by its cover, well with a lot of books in the fantasy genre you really, really, really can and that’s annoying. Also, did you actually LIKE tolkien or just the world he wrote in? I’m about to commit Fantasy Fiction Blasphemy because honestly, I thought he was a shitty writer, don’t get me wrong, the world he wrote in was amazingly detailed, the world itself was fantastic, but as a writer he was sooooooooo bad. Love the world, hate the story. You’re 10 times the author Tolkien is just by virtue of being good at world/character development and telling a good story that people can get through without wanting to stab themselves in the eye with the nearest sharp instrument.*eagerly awaits the pitch fork and torch wielding One Ring wearing Fanboys*

Nevermind, don’t answer that, they’ll string you up and I’ll never get to see the second and third books in what is becoming one of the best, if not the best story written in the last decade and a half.

Dang, that’ll teach me not to check the blog regularly, I left Point at about 12:30 today, and drove right by Bookfinders. Almost took the baby over there on a walk around 11 too. How funny! Happy Spring, it’s finally nice out here.

How come Amazon only has an imported version of your next book? Since when has Wisconsin not been part of the U.S.A.?
