At Your Request – New Shirts and Posters

Over the weekend, a lot of people chimed in about t-shirt designs, colors, and things they’d like to see in the store.

So here’s what we’ve decided to do.

  • We’ll be printing the Kingkiller design on a grey t-shirt.

Grey is similar but not identical to gray. You see, grey is slightly cooler. Because it’s British. (It’s also slightly darker. Because I say so.)

We’re still fixing the font. But we’re putting the shirt up for sale in the store now, that way you can order it sooner rather than later if you want.

  • Because people clamored for it, we’ll also be printing the Denner Fishing design on a black shirt.

Be warned. We probably won’t be ordering a ton of these. So if you want one, it would be best to order now, so that you can be sure to get the size you want.

  • We’ll be printing a Worldbuilders shirt.

It will have the Worldbuilders logo on a forest green shirt.

All three of these new shirts are now available in the store.

  • We’ve got an easier way of ordering big & tall shirts now.

We have to charge a little more for these, as they cost us more to make. But now we have a Big & Tall option right in the store.

  • We’re re-printing the Four-Corners map.

Several people e-mailed me asking if I could print posters other than Luring the Draccus. A couple folks  reminded me of the map that I printed waaaaaaaay back in the day.

So I’ve printed out some more of those. They’re up in the store already.

  • We’re selling the gold foil promotional Mr. Whiffle stickers.

People asked for them, so we’re putting them up in the store. Supplies are limited.

  • We’ve got a brand-new Mr Whiffle poster up in the store.

A while back, right after The Adventures of the Princess and Mr. Whiffle was published. I comissioned a special piece of art for my own amusement. Only those of you who have read the book will be able to appreciate it. But I suspect that those of you who have a bizarre sense of humor akin to my own might want a copy for yourselves.

I’m not going to post it up here, though. You’ll have to head over to the store to get a look at it.

So there you are.

Stay tuned for more Worldbuilders swag. We’ll be posting up blogs full of new donated books and auction items every day this week.

    First Post!

Hoodies? Please? The snowbound will be very grateful.

    Thanks

Wanted to second this request – is there any chance of getting the Eolian design on a hooded sweatshirt? I don’t know why, but it feels like a sweatshirt design to me – and the perennially chilly will be just as grateful as the snowbound!

      • Posted November 22, 2010 at 10:10 AM | Permalink

I don’t think we’ll be able to manage hoodies this time around. It’s just too much for us to handle this late in the game.

Fair enough. Thanks for the consideration, and fingers crossed for next year. :)

Thanks for the reply. Let us know when they are available. I’ll get tees for the friend in warmer climes but hoodies still make great bday gifts or next year christmas gifts for the crazy northerners.

Is there any way we could get a picture of the female shirts? I want to see the difference between the normal tshirts and the lady ones. Are they just tighter or are they scoop necked/babydoll?

Unless I’ve missed it, I don’t see any information about the shirt brands/sizing in the store. Please, Pat, take a moment to tell us the brand(s) you’re using, as it makes a world of difference. I don’t know what size a “women’s XL” (or even the big and tall) is until I know the brand, since it’s ridiculous how variable they are. Thank you!

I was going to ask about a size chart again. Glad to know it’s going to be up. I just hope I can justify buying two shirts… because I really want Kingkiller and Denner Fishing.

For the extra tall shirts, are there (or can there be) more mix-and-match options? I’d love to be able to order the Eolian in 3XLT.

    • Posted November 22, 2010 at 10:10 AM | Permalink

Right now there’s already 50 options in the big and tall store. Rather than add another 30, it might be better if you just sent an e-mail through the contact form in the store. We’ll work out those specialty orders on a case-by case basis.

I cannot tell you how excited I am about these t-shirts! My family thinks I’m crazy for loving a book so much, and I say “bring on the padded room!” So when I went to look to buy a t-shirt, I saw all the big and tall options, which I’m really neither, however, I am 12 weeks pregnant! I would *LOVE* to be able to buy one of these t-shirts, but very shortly now I won’t be able to fit it! Is there any way to possibly get an option for a pregnancy t-shirt for the Denner fishing option? And possibly the kingkiller one? Or, if that can’t work, can I possibly send you a pregnancy t-shirt and have them printed on? I know I’m probably blowing wishes into the wind, but I had to ask! Thanks!

    • Posted November 22, 2010 at 9:02 PM | Permalink

Is there such a thing as a “Pregnancy t-shirt” If so, could you drop us a link?

The problem is, we aren’t printing these ourselves. If our printer can’t get the shirts, we’re kinda out of luck…

I believe it’s called a maternity shirt. I also think I’ve heard of entire stores full of clothing with growing maternal bellies in mind. :)

I always felt like grey had more of a blue-ish, darker tint, and gray was lighter, and kinda brown.

…not that I’ve considered this much or anything…

I lost my arm in a gruesome Carousel accident. I don’t want to go into the details, but the fact is, I’m only in the market for a one-armed shirt.

Do you know if the store will offer one-armed shirts — the market is bigger than you might think?

Also, if possible, I would prefer a shirt made of hemp, so please advise whether I should purchase now or wait for the inevitable hemp option. Thanks!

Thanks a lot for this comment. It really made me laugh. Some people seem to forget what this is all about: Raising money for a good cause and not giving Pat a hard time because he does not fulfill each tiny wish.
(Wait. This was a joke, was it?)

My NOTW t-shirt list is now complete. Next is buying copies of the book to get more people in on the fun! Two of my three sons have not yet read the book! Blasphemy! They will be assimilated, and by next year will be longing for swag.

Thanks again, Pat, for making us so many t-shirts in so many choices, and also, for the added bonus of contributing to a good cause!

    Love,

Am I right in assuming that the art is in the pocket area for all the shirts? On an actual pocket would be best, but in the area like a logo is fine too.

Also, could we get the shirts in different colors? I really, really want these shirts and the designs are fantastic, but I don’t wear black shirts very often. Not ever really.

Yay! Denner fishing! Now I can own it, wash it carefully and wear it with pride! Thank you Patrick, you’ve made my christmas. Oh, and thank you for including our lovely British spelling. Grey. Nice to know we’re not forgotten about. I’ll trade you some fish and chips for some wisdom.

Hey Pat, I was just curious if there is a time line for how long the posters will be available in the store? I’d like all three (as well as one of the shirts), but I don’t want to be buying all at the same time, so I’d hoped to ration out my spending. So if you could give me some kind of timeline as to when I could expect the posters to no longer be available, I can plan out my spending schedule. Thanks!

Currently doing the Denner Fishing dance!*
You know you wish you could see it.

    * trademarked

Awaiting the much anticipated point-of-reference for sizing before I place my order for a girl shirt.

For the current guy sizes, you could use yourself for a POR, Pat. Which one fits you? Shirt sizes could come in Pat, 1/2Pat, 2xPat, Pat-squared, Pat to the 10th power, PiPat, etc.

    • Posted November 25, 2010 at 9:58 AM | Permalink

Aww, I wanted to see the happy dance! I have one too, right before i crawl into bed and hide. >D

That’s a good idea for size references. >D Good visual cue. Though, Pat to the 10th is a little scary. You’d be better off going to REI and getting a real tent.

Just ordered one Name Compilation and one Eolian Bar T-shirt. Really hope that they make it here to Stockholm by Christmas!

Also, hooray for the Swedish Krona to be so strong against the U.S Dollar. Thanks to that I did not have to choose between the T-shirts I wanted! :)
