Signed books and news about The Guild

I’m going to be flying out to Seattle soon, where I will be doing a few book signings and attending Norwescon.

That means that if you’re interested of getting a signed copy of the fancy new hardcover, you only have a little time left to order one from The Signed Page. They’re selling copies of the College Survival Guide too, if you’re interested in reading some of my earlier writing.

Lastly, those of you who enjoyed The Guild video that I posted up a couple weeks ago might be interested in knowing that it’s been nominated for an award. If you liked the show and would like to show your support, you can go HERE and vote for them in the “Series” category. Hopefully, if it wins a couple of these awards they’ll be able to get some official sponsorship, which will make it easier for them to continue producing the series.

Voting ends on the 19th. So jump to it.

At least George RR Martin hasn’t died (knock) as did poor Robert Jordan. I can’t wait to learn more about Tyrion and Lord Snow, but Rand should have died about 42 books ago. Winter is coming!!Also, about the YouTube vote…there’s one video in the “Eyewitness” category that really got my attention. The University of Florida man that was arrested and tasered at a John Kerry speech. It was really touching. I mean, who DO you call when it is the police hurting you?Cheers!

I voted for them. Brilliant.I hope you like Seattle, Pat. Maybe it’ll not rain while you’re here and you won’t leave thinking the stereotypes are true. It’s actually a really cool place.Enjoy!

It’s not Seattle, Pat—it’s Ankh Morpork.

I’ve voted for them already. Really love the series and I’ve showed it to some of my net friends! It’s really funny and sad how we can related to the characters in certain ways.Heres the real question: have you heard about Joss’ “DOCTOR HORRIBLE’S SING-ALONG BLOG”? Felicia Day is already credited as a character on that web show as well!http://dollhousetv.net/My local book store is completely out of copies of The Name of The Wind. Until the shipment of the new covers come in, I’m out of luck on buying one. I wish I could get it signed by you though! Those lucky Seattle people.

Sad news about Arthur C. Clarke. I thought of him last week when they talked on TV about a EU one way space shuttle named ‘Jules Verne’. I thought we should get one named after Clarke too…First Gygax, now Clarke, who’s next?Yep, and I voted for the Guild too, I’ve been watching an episode about every other day since Pat put it up here. Really fun, though in ‘my days’ we used IM’s not mikes and headphones;-).

<>Tas<>: I was merely teasing. The last time I saw Pat he was deep into editing it — this was a year ago — and I’m sure he is still in deep with editing. I got glimpses of pages and that was it.But I’m pretty scrappy. Pat’s a bear but I’m like a wolverine. I might be able to rend a few pages from that manuscript and run for my life, if he brought it along, of course!

Tas. My favorite part right now is the part with kvothe being jumped by those two guys and stabbed. I just love how Pat pulls it off. Kvothe realistically unrealistically if you know what I mean. Then to top it off Pat throws another unexpected twist in there and shows just how important The concept of the Chandrian are to Kvothe.but thats just my favorite part today
