PAX 2014

So what did I do at PAX this year?

Many things, but most notably this:

DD-Acquisitions-Inc.-V

And by that, I mean this.

Wait for it….

pat

P.S. Even if you don’t care about D&D, you should really watch the intro. That’s worth the price of admission all by itself….

You’re a lucky man Mr Rothfuss.
Out of all the perks of being a best selling author, being on stage with Mike, Jerry, and co must be right up there. Also, Chris Perkins seems a wonderful GM, and I would give my left *something* to play in a game of his.

The fact that they say my left *something* makes me so happy like what do they mean that was unmentionable? Were they gonna give the left part of their penis? Their left breast? Who knows.

Yeah. Chris is a Masterful GM. None of this would work without him….

Did any of your other appearances at PAX make it online? I only had a Monday pass but heard good things about the q&a done earlier in the event.

    Haha that was refreshing.

I didn’t mean to spend two hours watching this, but it turned out I did anyways and it was absolutely not a waste of time.

    Thank you sir.

You make a grand entrance, Pantless King. I’m confident your geek-meter was pegged at maximum. Even with the inevitable loss of freedom and privacy fame has wrought, perks like this have got to mollify the sting just a tad. Never thought I’d enjoy watching others game beyond the gridiron, but you have proven me wrong.

This news makes me inordinately giddy.

PAX was pretty awesome, and the D&D live game was definitely one of the high points.

Well, that and helping with this signing thing by selling a couple books about a princess and her stuffed animal for some guy who wrote a story or two. I guess that was pretty cool too.

It was great seeing you at PAX, Mr. Rothfuss!

You guys were invaluable. Thanks so much for helping out….

‘Twas our pleasure to assist. We were a little sad that there were no epic chandelier drops on the room full of frozen cultists, though.

Pat, I’m a pretty devoted gamer of all genres and platforms (including tabletop), so PAX is a weekend full of highs (and waiting in lines, of course). However, meeting you was my favorite “exhibition” and by far the best line-waiting experience. Critical success? Roll to confirm. *rolls 6 D20…all land on 20* The dice agree.

I don’t know when I laughed so hard at a table top game. Well done!

You need to post your character sheet. I’m trying to introduce my boys (ages 7 &8) to D&D and I’m struggling with 5th ed. I’m curious to see your build.

It’s distinctly possible that between noticing your PAX schedule, while not mentioning the D&D game, nevertheless had a gap where you COULD attend the D&D game, and the fact that Chris Perkins described the balloon as having music coming from it.. I might have been screaming profanities at my computer while attempting to will you into being as the ‘familiar face’.

That was an incredible scene- and what an entrance! Bravo! I didn’t think it was possible to love D&D (or Aquisitions Inc.) more.

As a sidenote- meeting you was such an inspiring experience, much as reading your books has been. Thank you for being patient and tolerant with my awkward gushing. It’s not every day that you meet the person who made you want to write again.

Hope your PAX was as wonderful as you made it for everyone else!

    Cheers,
    Destiny

Bards are wankers – Patrick Rothfuss

That whole game was magnificent, thanks for sharing I completely missed this.

It was my first Acquisitions show, loved it.

I convinced you to trade pins, and later I was able to have you sign yours. It’s the first pin in my collection that I’ve cared enough about to hide away in a safe spot.

Many thanks for a great show.

My husband and I were having horrible days at work until I discovered this was posted. It helped me get through a rough day, and we laughed over dinner as we watched the entire production unfold.

I can’t wait to hear how it goes in Baldur’s Gate in the next event!

My favorite part so far was when Chris was accused of owing Pat money, or possibly being blackmailed by Pat.

For whatever weird reason I was able to purchase a copy of “the slow regard of silent things” at a book store here in Germany yesterday. As I wasn’t following your blog for quite some time, I only realized just now that the book shop might’ve been a bit early… o.O … Nevertheless – I’m really looking forward to reading it :)
