Interview at Fantasymundo

The book’s doing pretty well over in Spain, from what I understand. So earlier this month I did a bit of a Q&A interview for a Spanish website called Fantasymundo.

To my pleasant surprise, they didn’t just post up the translation of my answers, they put up my original English version as well.

That means my fellow monolingual English-speaking brethren can head over there and read it if they’re interested…

Keep in mind you have to scroll down past the entire Spanish interview to find the English version.

A new video interview.

Here’s a new video interview for those of you who are into that sort of thing.

I did this one when I was over in London. I haven’t watched it, because watching myself on video makes me squirrely. But I probably say some interesting things. I guess. There’s probably cussings too.

Huh. I just went over and read the description of the video. Apparently I’m “erudite.” Go me.

Share and enjoy,

The settling dust….

Well, the fundraiser is over, and most of my weekend has been spent dealing with the fallout.

I’ll post up a more detailed blog about the aftermath in a couple of days. I’ll talk details, show some pictures, give the final totals, and discuss the plans for the future.

But for now, my priority is sending out the books to everyone who won prizes. That means I’m too busy packaging things up with Sarah to write up a new blog right now. And no, that’s not a euphemism.

Check out all the swag, and this isn’t even including Subterranean Press’s books.

The more observant of you might note that my book is glowing with some sort of holy light. That’s right folks, not only is it a cracking good read, but The Name of the Wind will actually help you cut energy costs by illuminating your house. Plus, basking naked in its warm glow will help your body generate much-needed vitamin D.

This is why they don’t let me write ad copy.

In other news, if you’re looking for a way to pass the time, I did an online author panel thinger with a few other folks over at bookgeeks, talking about the classic science/magic issue.

So if you’re interested in what we had to say, or if you’re just looking to kill time at work, feel free to wander over there and check it out.

Later all,

pat

New Podcast – Writing Excuses.

When I was out at worldcon this year, I got to meet up with Brandon Sanderson.

This was pretty cool for me, because I’ve really enjoyed his books so far. Most notably the Mistborn series. Though Elantris was really good as well.

I’ve recommended his books on the blog before, so I won’t go all gushy again. But I have to say, his stuff is really good. Irritatingly good. Plus he writes really fast, which is nice as a reader because he has more books out. But irritating as a writer, because it makes people like me look bad.

Anyway, he does a writing podcast with a few co-conspirators, and they asked me if I wanted to be their guest for an episode and talk about exposition and stuff.

So I did.

Here’s the link, if you’re interested.

I’m planning a blog about the wierd world of fanfic, but it’s taking a while.

So to tide you over, here’s a podcast that I did while I was off at Dragoncon.
