Interviews, etc

I did an interview a couple weeks ago over here, but I forgot to link to it until just now.

Also, for those of you who haven’t seen it already, Tarol Hunt over at Goblins did an awesome comic about the book. (It’s the second comic on the page, you’ll have to scroll down a bit.)

And lastly, this week I managed to hit the top 10 on the New York Times:

That’s all for now. I’ll start announcing the winners of the photo contest later this week, so stay tuned….

“More sex. More violence. More Kvothe. More Bast. But not all in the same scene. I’ll leave that particular combination for the fanfic writers.” HAHAH! this made me giggle. The first part took on a completely different meaning once you mentioned the fanfic.

More sex. More violence. More Kvothe. More Bast. Might this sentence be referring to the fanfic you pointed out to us a couple of months ago?To be honest if it weren’t for your catchy phrases I wouldn’t have taken home you being an unknown author and all.The phrase ” I have stolen princesses…heard of me.” Is actually beautifully translated into Dutch. If you ever care to take up Dutch you will know what I mean. It was somewhere in September when I devoured your book in less then one weekend. And now you made it into the top 10 of the NYT bestseller list. I would not have expected anything less from my favorite author. Although I expected it hell of a lot sooner, it still is a pleasant thought many people have enjoyed reading this truly amazing story.I’m looking forward to the moment where the story will dazzle me and leaves a seemingly never ending lump in my throat, yet again.Yours,JeffP.S. Felecia is right about Damien Lewis and Keira Knightley!

“You know what it’s like when you’re reading a book and you hit a patch that doesn’t seem to make sense? Or it’s a little confusing? Or boring? Or logically inconsistent? I don’t ever want those little bits in my book.”And this is exactly why I loved your book to pieces. Also, I must jump on the bandwagon with everyone else who loved the “More sex. More violence. More Kvothe. More Bast” line. Very funny!

Congrats, Pat! That’s awesome! I’m a regular reader of Goblins, and I loved the comic about the book when he first posted it. Great stuff!I’m seeing lots of cool ads for NotW in those places on the net that are most charged with raw awesome. Good job, Pat! Your writing is full of awesome, and if I get to meet you in person, (Say, if you go to Dragon*Con, hint hint) I’ll be sure to ask you to sign my copies.

Easy to see how! Congratulations!I just bought your book Monday. I missed out on the hype (so this is completely new to me), and was about to leave the bookstore in a dreary mindset, because nothing sounded interesting for my current mood. Then suddenly, I picked up your book, read the back, and bought it on a whim. Having only read to chapter 3, to date, I just had to express my delight in what I’ve read so far (despite my overly busy schedule). It’s a rather lengthy book, but – having just finished reading “Wizard’s First Rule” which was a good read – I thoroughly enjoy your writing style, already. It’s beautifully descriptive, but not so overly descriptive that I find myself losing interest after a paragraph. In fact, I really enjoy the flow of your words, and am savoring each bite like a meaty chunk of mouth-watering, pink steak. I think by the time I reach the end, I’ll be glad I grabbed your book.Birmingham, AL
