Miscellanea

It’s not all Mountain Dew and aperture science over here these days, folks. There are some things keeping me busy.

Truth is, I have roughly 50 blogs I’d like to finish writing for y’all, not the least of which are the photo contest blogs, blogs telling some of the stories of what happened to me during the tour, and a few posts about upcoming projects that might interest y’all.

But simply said, right now I just don’t have the time and the energy to write those blogs properly, and I’m loathe to half-ass these things.

So instead, you get links to some stuff I’ve kinda been meaning to mention on here for a while. Such as….

… an interview I did for Dragonmount a while back.

… and a funny blog a woman wrote about how I conspired with her child to destroy her house.

Share and enjoy,

pat

Hahahahaha, I remember reading that blog post back in March (she must have linked to it from here). Read #2 just now still cracked me up. Especially the cookie-dough picture. Such a look of wild glee/delight/victory. Well played.

      Pat,

Someone has probably already caught this and I hate to even mention it, but you have a word missing in your description of Tarbean’s odor on the map in “The World” tab. It’s a trivial thing, but it stands out like a sore $^&@.

“For the most part, summertime Tarbean like baked piss and rancid fish oil. Like too many people, too hot, and too long between washings. Like tar and stale beer and horseshit. ”

      Humbly submitted,

      Mike

      P.S.

If anyone can tell me how to post in a more appropriate location, I’m all ears.

Thanks for the links. Always giving us stuff, I swear. What a nice guy. ^_^

Is one of the things keeping you busy the new My Little Pony show? Because if it’s not, it should be. You can use the excuse that you’re watching it with Oot if anyone catches you.
All the episodes are available on Youtube in HD. And let there be no question, the show is extremely manly and makes anyone that watches it also more manly. Your beard will grow larger and become more like Gandalf’s. And uhh, other manly stuff will happen too.

          Watchponies! Love it!

Wow, my girls are 4 and 7 and I didn’t even know about this show. (We try to limit television to things without commercials. Commercials are evil. Their job is to make you feel bad about yourself.)

Time to start recording. . .

One of the great things about it, is that you’ll be able to enjoy it with your kids and any other adults in the family. Most of the viewers are men between the ages of 18 and 44, at least according to Youtube’s viewer statistics and the sites that most of the fans visit.
And here’s a video I just found today, a Pony / Gaston YTPMV that’s completely insane and so full of win I had to share it.

It’s kind of too late, but in regards to that “favorite line” blog a while back…partial reread has yielded a few new results. Prime among them:

    “Gristly. Like boning a chicken.”

This. Here. It is the greatest pun.

As a fellow fan of Mountain Dew, I must inquire; have you had yourself a can of Mountain Dew Grape yet? I find it to be a fantastic blend of the best flavors of Dew and grape soda/pop. A nectar of the gods, if you will. It’s only available in Japan, but as a matter of fact, I know a guy who lives there and could probably hook you up with a few…

America has Mountain Dew Pitch Black right now, it’s a sort of grape flavor. Pretty good. It’s apparently only here for a limited time though, alas.

My bias is that Mountain Dew Typhoon was the best. And then they released that White crap. Is Pitch Black better than Typhoon?

That Dragonmount interviewer must’ve cried after that interview, you really didn’t give him much!
Fun read as usual when you’re involved though but not a whole lot of meat in the interview.

    Dear Mr Rothfuss,

On a similar note to AKA Jane Random, I’d take it as a personal favour if you’d stop releasing awesome books in the run-up to the UK actuarial exams. Reading TWMF five times in the first fortnight did wonders for my personal happiness, but very little for my knowledge of derivative usage in asset/liability management.

I’m sure we can work this out in a civilised fashion without anyone’s pension plan suddenly going into deficit.

    Yours threateningly,
    Alex
