When the Hearthfire turns to blue….

Hey there everybody,

We made a video to help promote one of the new products we’re featuring in our Geeks Doing Good fundraiser and it turned out way better than I’d dared to hope, so I thought I’d share it here:

(Though whoever chose that paricular thumbnail should be fired.)

If you’re interested in checking out some of the cool things we’re selling for charity, you should head over to check out the indigogo sooner rather than later. Not only are there only 4 days left, but a lot of the items are limited quantity, and when they’re gone, they’re gone.

And if you *have* already checked it out… maybe go have another look? We’re adding new items every day to replace the ones that sell out. (The Jamdrian, for example, just went live yesterday.) We’ve also had a few unexpected donations come through in the last few days. And I’ve been digging through my personal trove of hoarded treasures to find stuff we can add to the mix…

I’m also streaming every day starting at 12:00 Central standard time, and so far it’s been… weird. Fun but weird. If you’re looking for some chill surrealism to help the quarantine pass more quickly, feel free to wander on over and join us in the chat.

Later Space Cowboys,

pat

Jamdrian is a great name! I’ve been thinking for ages about a dye joke (“It doesn’t dye!”) but didn’t get it to work (sleep, sanity, and forgetfulness wouldn’t click, huh?).

I enjoyed this. Thank you, Pat, Beth, Zay, and Nate. (Plus anyone else my janky Internet didn’t let me see.)

Total aside, but someone on /r/kingkillerchronicle made this lovely Jax and the Moon graphic novel and I thought it’d maybe brighten up your day a bit. They’ve even said they’ll throw it your way if you want it.

Just watched the fundraiser video above and it made me chuckle.

You really need to watch a UK TV show called Toast of London starring Matt Berry. It’s a sit com about an actor who does a lot of advertisement voice overs and is frequently messed about by the directors. I think it’ll make you chuckle after doing this :)

I love that you’re doing this Pat and it’s also always a pleasure to view your streams! I can’t watch live because 12pm your time is 3am my time! But I can catch your later streams when you them, they are fun :)
I’m not fortunate enough to be able to donate this time around, but I have been retweeting all the fundraiser things for you to hopefully help spread the word!

    Have a lovely day!

Ha, I am one of the most awkward humans alive but this made me feel like I am in good company.
Here’s to being able to laugh at yourself.

Heh. I’m guessing this wasn’t intended to be a “Reply” tweet.

It took me until the light to figure out that it was staged. Well done.

I think it was your recommendation that also helped me find adventure zone. Any other podcasts you would recommend, because it seems like we’ve got similar tastes?

That video had me laughing out loud and had my dog looking at me like I was a crazy person. I’m not really a jam person, but now I want to get some just because of this video. That was amazing.

I love the fundraising you do. That’s great.

And now that I’ve gotten busy with life and unable to finish book 2 in my series, I understand even more why you haven’t finished book 3 because of life getting in the way. It gets harder the longer I wait. Good luck with the fundraisers, TV show, movie, and trying to get the third book out. Now that I think about it, bringing that book out around the time the movie or TV show comes out would be an excellent marketing storm. Maybe this will really work out well in your favor.

“You’ve got me for like, an hour.”

HAHAHA! I love it. I don’t know how much footage you had but that was stitched together so well I couldn’t stop watching it.

    Great job!

We know a remote farm in Lincolnshire, where Mrs. Buckley lives. Every July, peas grow there.

Can we please have The Doors of Stone already? We’re re-listening to the first two again, and we just want to know what happens to Kvothe.
